Michael M. Kazemi is a practicing attorney and human rights activist in Southern California. He centers his practice on complex immigration, refugee and humanitarian cases. Born in Iran and migrated to the US in 1975, Mr. Kazemi pursued his education at the University of Colorado with undergraduate and graduate studies in Political Science and Political Economy, prior to receiving his law degree. He has been a guest lecturer at numerous universities and colleges on subjects of criminal justice, immigration, professional ethics and human rights. He also was part of a law advisory delegation by the USAID to Afghanistan in 2014, assisting the Afghan government with updating legal codes and statutes. As a teacher, lawyer and activist, Mr. Kazemi has been involved in many progressive causes, including anti-nuclear issues, immigration reforms, refugee programs, human rights movements and civic advocacy, and has served on the advisory board of few non-profit organizations, and has served on the board of directors of numerous grass-root and progressive organizations. In addition to teaching and law practice, Mr. Kazemi has authored and published host of articles on issues ranging from US constitutional laws to social, political and cultural points of interests, as well as being a frequent commentator on various radio and TV programs.
