OMID’s Group Therapy and Peer Support Clinic offers a safe, structured environment where clients can share experiences, develop coping skills, and build community connections. Group settings encourage mutual support and offer valuable opportunities to learn from others who are navigating similar challenges.
Our Approach
We facilitate a range of group therapy formats, from skills-based to support-focused, led by trained therapists who foster a respectful and confidential atmosphere. Groups are formed based on shared experiences or therapeutic goals, ensuring relevance and comfort for participants.
Our Programs
Skills-based DBT Group
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) groups provide structured skills training to manage emotions and interpersonal challenges. Groups focus on:
- Mindfulness: Techniques to stay present and grounded
- Emotion Regulation: Identifying and managing intense emotions
- Interpersonal Effectiveness: Building healthier relationships
- Distress Tolerance: Coping with crises without making situations worse
- Current DBT Groups emphasize ages 18-25
- *Please note that we do not provide full DBT, these are skills based group therapy only. Individuals are required to be in therapy and OMID can provide special rate for co-enrollment of group and individual therapy
FSS (Family Support Services)
The primary goal of this program is to establish a unified family support system for families and care-takers of those who are challenged with behavioral health conditions and other stressful conditions putting the family at risk. The program addresses the needs of all age groups: youth/TAY, adults and senior adults.
- The Family Support Services will help to prevent the development of behavioral health problems in other members of the family through the provision of services such as individual peer-to-peer support or mentor-ship, groups and educational workshops, volunteer family mentor networks, family matching, and additional family supports as proposed for increasing resiliency, connectedness and self-care
- provide psychoeducation, through workshops - an opportunity to connect with others in similar circumstances, and employ self-care strategies and tools.
