Dr. Maryam Sayyedi, Ph.D

Maryam Sayyedi is the founder and executive director of Omid Multicultural Institute for Development (O.M.I.D.). Doctor Sayyedi had her practice as a clinical psychologist which in 2011 transformed into a 501C3 community based mental health agency to serve the newly immigrated underserved communities. She recently retired after 22 years of teaching at California State University Fullerton and continued with advancing the cause of mental health in underserved communities while training the new mental health workforce to better serve the community with a deeper understanding of Culture and Equity. Dr. Sayyedi obtained her doctorate from Washington State University in clinical psychology with emphases on Child Development and Neuropsychology. She has more than 25 years of clinical experience working with diverse populations of children and their families. She has also authored chapters on multiculturalism and has presented in California Psychological Association and American Psychological Association as well as local conferences on similar topic and issues.

Dr. Tanvi Patel, Psy. D

Clinical Training Director PSY35729

Tanvi Patel is a California-licensed psychologist who earned her doctorate in Applied Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Southern California campuses. She specializes in psychological assessment for adults. She completed both her predoctoral and postdoctoral training at the OMID, where she also served as Clinic Coordinator. In that role, she conducted comprehensive psychological assessments, provided individual psychotherapy, managed testing referrals with OCHCA agencies, assisted with clinic administration, and contributed to organizational outreach and training initiatives. This experience provided a strong foundation for her current leadership role as Clinical Training Director at OMID. She is dedicated to workforce development and the training of future mental health professionals. She is especially passionate about enhancing the confidence and clinical competency of clinicians in training, ensuring they receive strong, supportive, and ethically grounded supervision, along with meaningful hands-on experience. Her clinical approach is rooted in evidence-based practices, cultural humility, and a strong dedication to both client care and professional development.

Dr. Daniel Ignacio, Ph.D., M.S., M.A.

Neuropsychology Faculty, Testing Supervisor PSY 35782, LMFT #128287

Daniel Andre Ignacio, PhD MS MA CBIS, serves as the program lead and Certified Brain Injury Specialist at Providence St. Jude Medical Center's Brain Injury Network, licensed clinical neuropsychologist and faculty at OMID Institute, director of vocational rehabilitation and LMFT for CareTheresa Assisted Living Network, chair of California Department of Rehabilitation's Traumatic Brain Injury Advisory board: Data Analytics Committee, and respite provider for R & N Family Support Services for families with children/adults with neurodevelopmental conditions. His research efforts include systems-focused change at the local, state, and federal levels for families affected by brain injury. He is a 17-year survivor of a "severe" traumatic brain injury, hypoxemia, pneumothorax, and a 1-month coma. Dr. Ignacio's clinical interests lie at the intersection of neurologic trauma, diversity (e.g., multicultural), and disparity (e.g., situational/positional/structural inequities). He received his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Fielding University, completed his pre-doctoral internship at the NWI Veteran's Affairs Consortium, completed post-doctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology at UCLA's BrainSPORT program, and is currently completing his MPH at UCLA's Fielding School of Public Health.

Parastoo Erdogan, MS

Parastoo Erdogan is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a passion for supporting individuals ready to take action and create meaningful change in their lives. She is dedicated to providing a safe, compassionate environment where clients can explore, heal, and build the life they have longed for. As a Certified Trauma Professional, Parastoo has extensive experience working with developmental trauma, relational trauma, and complex PTSD. Her approach helps clients address and resolve the effects of trauma, which often manifest as depression, anxiety, self-harm, attachment challenges, or addictive and compulsive behaviors. Parastoo brings a wealth of knowledge gained from working with diverse populations, empowering her clients to enhance personal growth and deepen self-awareness. In addition to her clinical work, she is passionate about supervising and mentoring the next generation of mental health professionals. She offers both in-person and virtual supervision for therapists seeking to strengthen their skills and professional development.

Tsai-ling Fraher, MS

Tsai-ling Fraher is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a private practice in Irvine and a Clinical Supervisor for OMID. Tsai-ling was recognized in 2017 by the California State University Fullerton Counseling Department with the prestigious “Excellence as a Counselor” award, a true testament to her ability and talent in her role as a counselor and therapist. Prior to becoming a therapist, Tsai-ling enjoyed career endeavors in business administration and national security. Tsai-ling brings her enriched personal and professional experiences into her role as a therapist. Tsai-ling is multi-lingual and multi-cultural, fluent in English, Mandarin, and Taiwanese, and well-versed in their respective cultures. She has been a trusted source for the Chinese immigrant population in and near Irvine providing bilingual psychotherapy, counseling, psycho-education presentations, and classes regarding parenting and domestic abuse prevention. She works extensively with high achieving professionals as well as immigrant families who benefit from her multilingual, multicultural and strength-based approach. Tsai-ling is extensively trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She strives to live and practice therapy in an ACT conforming way by asking herself and her clients, ""Given what is most important to you, what are you willing to do and experience, to move in that direction in this present moment?” Tsai-ling believes in OMID’s mission statement and its continued effort in improving the community's future and wellbeing with their services.
